Salaam Namaste - A Review

Welcome to 101.5 FM, Salaam Namaste, where Hambar, hmm... Ambar (Priety Zinta) rocks as an RJ to support her medical studies in Australia. Nikhil Arora, oops I am sorry I meant Nick (Saif Ali Khan), an Architect by profession, works as the chief chef at the restaurant "Nick of Time".

Like any particular love story, the movie starts with Ambar and Nick being the biggest enemies, Ambar bringing a bad name to "Nick Of Time", because Nick did not appear for an interview at her show on Salaam Namaste. They meet for the first time at a wedding where they fall in love and decide to go ahead with a living relationship to try one another out.

The movie starts off with an entertaining note, moves toward a serious note around the middle and again ends in the laughing tune. Special appearance of Javed Jaffery and Abhishek Bachchan do add more laughs to the plot. But at the same time the "Sorry" chic of Javed Jaffery is a little irritating.

Overall an Over-hyped movie, but definetly a movie worth watching. A nice time pass, with awesome picturization and wonderful acting by Saif and Priety.

One Night @ The Call Center

Chetan Bhagat is back again with his second book releasing in October 2005 after the sweet entertaining first book "Five Point Someone" which even emptied the shelves of Jogindra and Indra. The two book stores in Roorkee. Indra had the monopoly before, then this new guy came up, opened a book store right in front of Indra and called it Jogindra :p.

Well coming back to ON@TCC, the story is about 6 people in the Call Center and spread over the timeframe of 11 hours, where the call center recieves a call from the God. The three themes covered are Ex-GF, Bad Boss and the God. Eagerly waiting to get back to India in December and get hold of this book.

One of the challenges Chetan faced writing the novel, which is actually pretty true:
It is really hard to understand and portray the thought of three female (read complex) characters as compared to just one in the Five Point Someone.

Puraani Jeans aur Guitar...

Those were the days back in my sophomore year, when Piyush Hari sang on the tune of my Puraani Jeans and Guitar. Now a proud owner of the Yamaha Accoustic, nostalgia got onto me when I found the lyrics of the same song while fishing for my old guitar notes in my wardrobe drawers. I miss those four wonderful years of my life back at Roorkee. :)
